Spring is in the air and despite the challenging times we are all facing, we want to reassure clients (old and new) that here at LP Planning we are remaining positive and focused and working through this. The current challenges won’t last forever and the economy will bounce back, and all of us and our businesses will be more robust and stronger as a result.
Our staff are working from home and making site visits, whilst following government advice on social distancing. The messages we have received to date from the local planning authorities, who we work closely with, is that their planning officers are continuing to work from home and are as determined to keep processing planning applications, appeals etc. as we are to keep the economy running.

Charlotte established LP Planning in 2006 after being employed in both the public sector as a planning officer for what was North Wiltshire District Council and in the private sector as a consultant. She now has 20 years of experience and knowledge of the planning sector. Charlotte is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. She is honest, professional and passionate about planning. Charlotte is dedicated to promoting Town and Country Planning as a career for young people. She has run workshops in local schools and colleges on planning and construction and also hosted many work experience placements. Outside work Charlotte enjoys spending time with her young family. Her interests include sustainable living, cycling and running. Her goal is to one day complete an Ironman (Woman) event!
Debbie joined us in 2015 and has since completed a Town Planning Apprenticeship to develop and expand her planning knowledge. Debbie is our in-house planning assistant and she works closely alongside our professional planners supporting their day to day work on all projects. She helps behind the scenes in carrying out research, tracking and monitoring the progress of all our planning applications and appeals and liaising with clients and local authorities. Debbie is patient, supportive and reliable. In her spare time Debbie enjoys walking and visiting National Trust properties with her family. She enjoys reading is also very creative and knits for friends, family and charitable causes. For fitness and relaxation, Debbie enjoys Yoga.
Ian has been a chartered town planner for nearly 25 years. Immediately prior to joining, Ian was a Planning Inspector determining a wide range of planning appeals. This followed a career in local government and, most recently, he headed up planning services at a district council in Somerset. Throughout his career, Ian has had a particular focus on developing planning strategies across England and Wales, striving to make planning accessible to developers and communities. Away from work he loves cycling and walking in the great outdoors and enjoying the food and culture on offer across the West Country.
