Newsflash! Spring 2020 Update

Spring is in the air and despite the challenging times we are all facing, we want to reassure clients (old and new) that here at LP Planning we are remaining positive and focused and working through this. The current challenges won’t last forever and the economy will bounce back, and all of us and our businesses will be more robust and stronger as a result.

Our staff are working from home and making site visits, whilst following government advice on social distancing. The messages we have received to date from the local planning authorities, who we work closely with, is that their planning officers are continuing to work from home and are as determined to keep processing planning applications, appeals etc. as we are to keep the economy running.

So please be assured that as far as possible, it is ‘business as near normal’ and we are happy to help. If you have an enquiry about a possible new job, please call:

LP Planning Case Studies

High Street, Sutton Benger

Change of use from office to residential.

LP Planning successfully obtained full planning permission for change of use of an office building (use class B1) to residential dwelling (use class C3) at High Street, Sutton Benger. The client contacted LP Planning as a prospective purchaser. Her vision was to purchase it and convert to a five-bedroom family home.

The large two storey property had been built with local materials and was described by Wiltshire’s Conservation Officer as a heritage asset. The building was thought to be once used as a dwelling but for more than 20 years had been used as an office. Located in Sutton Benger Conservation Area and adjoining the curtilage of a Grade II listed building; the client was mindful that the change of use would have to address these issues.

LP Planning explored the possibility of submitting a Part O Prior Approval application but determined that a full application would be the best approach. The proposal included some layout changes to the ground floor, five bedrooms to the first floor and the construction of a detached 3 bay garage. LP Planning obtained planning permission for the proposed development.

The client was very pleased with LP Planning’s knowledge, tenacity and communication. The client would be happy to recommend our services.
